Privacy Policy

Play Salad Bowl ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. We built this game to be simple and low-data by design.
1. The words you enter
When you add words to your bowl to play the game, those words are stored only in your browser (in-memory and sessionStorage) and are not sent to our servers — unless you explicitly click "Save & share this pack".
If you choose to save and share a word pack, the words you entered are stored on our infrastructure (Cloudflare KV) so the shareable link works. Please note:
- Do not include real personal data (full names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) in packs you save and share — shared packs are accessible to anyone with the link and appear in our public "Recent packs" list.
- Saved packs are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- We do not attach your identity to a saved pack. We do not know who created it.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not require an account. There is no signup, no login, no email required to play.
- We do not sell your data. Ever.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
3. Cookies & analytics
We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (e.g. how many people play). We do not use these to identify you individually. If we add third-party advertising in the future, this section will be updated and, where required, a consent banner will be shown.
4. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to processing.
- Deletion of a saved pack: because we don't tie packs to identities, the fastest route is to email us the pack link (see below) and we will delete it. All packs auto-expire in 90 days regardless.
- Right to not sell (CCPA): we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Legal basis (GDPR): saving a pack is based on your consent (the explicit "Save & share" action). You can withdraw it by requesting deletion.
5. Children
This game is intended for a general audience. Adult-themed word packs (18+) are clearly labeled and gated behind an age confirmation. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU).
